 Oil Filled Capacitor
An oil filled capacitor is usually an AC-voltage-rated or dual-voltage-rated (AC/DC) capacitor designed for circuits requiring high-reliability.All AC-rated oil filled capacitors supplied by Richardson RFPD are UL, CSA, and VDE approved. Oil filled capacitors are used where high-peak-voltages, high-current, and long operating life are needed. This includes high-voltage filtering and energy storage, motor run, motor start, commutating, high-voltage lighting, HVAC, and arc suppression (snubber) applications. These capacitors are found in industrial heating systems, AC motors, DC motors, high intensity discharge (HID) lighting, high-voltage lighting ballasts, and power supplies. Whereas aluminum electrolytic capacitors are nearly always polarized (positive terminal and negative terminal), oil filled capacitors are non-polar and can therefore be used in all voltage reversal applications. These capacitors include a self-healing capability and are made from oil-impregnated metalized polypropylene. Some oil filled capacitors are quite unique, in that they may include a resistor connected across the terminals. Also, in some cases a single package can include two separate capacitors. Key characteristics for choosing an oil filled capacitor include overall Peak Voltage rating (V), operating life (hours), and Case/Package Type. Richardson RFPD is pleased to work with industry-leading manufacturers Cornell Dubilier, KEMET, GE, Genteq and Plastic Cap to provide a large selection of oil filled capacitors for our customers. |

| | Filter By Parametric Attributes | Help
The parametric search filter allows the user to quickly find the parts they need by filtering the results in real-time.
To filter search results:
For each attribute shown, the user can individually select attribute values or use any combination of the min / max range selectors at the bottom of the attribute.
Additionally, some attributes allow for the conversion of their base type to different types. For example, the attribute group for minimum frequency is shown in MHz. The values can be converted to be shown in KHz or GHz by selecting the conversion type from the ‘Select Conversion’ drop down list.
Any Attribute that does not interest the user can be hidden by clicking on the ‘X” in the upper-right corner of the attribute. To show any hidden attributes, simply click the ‘Unhide Attributes’ button in the bottom of the parametric search filter.
If you are experiencing performance issues, please use a newer browser such as Chrome or Firefox, or disable the ability of the filter to perform dynamic updates by deselecting the checkbox titled ‘Allow Filters to Dynamically Update Parametric Search Attributes’.
