 DC Block
A coaxial DC Block is used when DC isolation is required to protect sensitive RF system components like receivers or test equipment. Richardson RFPD offers three (3) types of coaxial DC Block: Inner, Outer, and Inner/Outer.
Inner DC Blocks have a capacitor in-series with the center conductor (of the coaxial connection), which prevents the flow of direct current (DC) and minimizes the flow of audio frequency current, but provides only minimum impedance to RF signals (up to the rated maximum frequency in GHz). Similarly, Outer DC Blocks have the capacitor in-series with the outer conductor (of the coaxial connection). The Inner/Outer models have capacitors in-series with both inner and outer conductors.
Applications for DC Block include ground loop elimination, signal source modulation leakage suppression, system signal-to-noise ratio improvement, test setup isolation and other situations where undesired DC or audio current need to be prevented from flowing between different sections of an RF system.
Specific attributes which are important in selecting the right DC Block for your application include the coaxial Connector Type (N, SMA, BNC, etc.); Maximum Frequency (in GHz); the rated Voltage (V); and the Block Type (Inner, Outer, or Inner/Outer). |

| | Filter By Parametric Attributes | Help
The parametric search filter allows the user to quickly find the parts they need by filtering the results in real-time.
To filter search results:
For each attribute shown, the user can individually select attribute values or use any combination of the min / max range selectors at the bottom of the attribute.
Additionally, some attributes allow for the conversion of their base type to different types. For example, the attribute group for minimum frequency is shown in MHz. The values can be converted to be shown in KHz or GHz by selecting the conversion type from the ‘Select Conversion’ drop down list.
Any Attribute that does not interest the user can be hidden by clicking on the ‘X” in the upper-right corner of the attribute. To show any hidden attributes, simply click the ‘Unhide Attributes’ button in the bottom of the parametric search filter.
If you are experiencing performance issues, please use a newer browser such as Chrome or Firefox, or disable the ability of the filter to perform dynamic updates by deselecting the checkbox titled ‘Allow Filters to Dynamically Update Parametric Search Attributes’.
