Bonitron Portable Ultracapacitor Tester

As ultracapacitors age and approach their end-of-life, their equivalent series resistance (ESR) rises and their capacitance drops significantly below the original specification. These capacitors typically need replacement to avoid process failure.

Measuring capacitance and ESR helps determine when these capacitors reach end of life, avoiding both process failure and expensive, unnecessary preemptive replacement.

The Bonitron M3628PUT allows the user to charge a capacitor or bank to a specified voltage, and then discharge the bank. The display will then show the calculated capacitance and ESR of the bank.
