EMI/Shielding
EMI (Electromagnetic Interference) is caused by electronic components such as IGBTs, MOSFETs, and SCRs switching on and off. The EMI that is generated can cause disruptions in the functions of other components. EMI filters are designed to protect circuits from these disturbances. X and Y caps are safety rated for use in these areas. X caps are used from phase to phase and Y caps are used from phase to ground.
