Richardson RFPD offers a full suite of software defined radio solutions, from single components to fully-integrated modules and systems. We also offer development tools, licensable reference designs and design services.
Our current lineup of featured SDR solutions includes:

RF Front End Reference Designs
- RF cards with amplified transmit and receive signal paths, with integrated switches and filters for enabling high power communications systems.
- Integrates with SDR tools to develop SoM evaluation platforms.
Wideband Frequency Converters
- Family of general-purpose, high-performance, standalone frequency converters.
- Designed to interface directly with an external baseband platform, such as Analog Device’s Mixed-Signal-Front-End (MxFE).
SDR System on Module (SoM)
- Radio card with integrated FPGA on the board. Add carrier board to develop an SDR development Kit.
- Standard, off-the-shelf OEM radio module in a compact package.
- Hardware customization available. Design files are available under license.
SDR Development Kit
- SDR System on Module with carrier board for easy access to I/O, Ethernet, USB, JTAG and serial connections. May include bundled technical support with purchase.
- Recommended for hardware development.
Communication System Platforms
- Multiple board kit that contains SDR SoM, carrier board, and RF Front End.
- Supports power amplifier linearizing solutions, such as, Digital Pre-Distortion (DPD) or Envelope Tracking (ET).
SoM Carrier Boards
- Carrier or Break-out-Board SDR prototyping platform that contains all ncessary interfaces and I/O expansion required for SDR System on Modules.
- Every SDR SoM is compatible with at least one carrier board option, either integrated into a SDR Development Kit or as a standalone option.
RF FMC Card Reference Designs
- Radio card that easily integrates with known FPGA boards in order to develop a radio system.
- Standard, off-the-shelf prototyping tool.
- Hardware design files are available and supporting software is available under license.
FPGA Mezzanine Card (FMC)
- The Zynq®-7000 All programmable SoC evaluation kit provides a data capture platform for many ADI Radioverse wideband transceiver evaluation boards.
- Supports up to 12.5 Gbps JESD204B Lane Rates.
SDR Demonstration Kit
- Fully functional SDR unit in plastic or metal enclosure.
- Recommended for proof-of-concept projects and test equipment.
Data Acquisition Hardware (DAQ)
- Powerful and precise multifunction data measurement tools that can replace expensive lab equipment.
- Applications are web-based and come included at no extra charge when purchasing hardware.
