5G modules use the latest cellular technology and generally support faster data rates and lower latency than 4G modules. As of 2022, 5G networks are primarily deployed in major cities. 5G modules that only work with 5G networks may suffer from limited coverage. Today, many 5G modules provide LTE 4G fallback to improve network coverage for connected products. This type of module can connect over an available 4G network when the 5G network is not available.

5G Broadband Modules

5G modules support 3GPP Release 15 or higher. Today, these 5G modules are targeted at mobile broadband applications and support very high data throughput, such as live video streaming, broadcasting, and video surveillance.
